For protection of solar arrays, DustTamer can provide superior performance and durability over shade cloth types of material. DustTamer's wind reduction capability offers several potential benefits, including reduction of foundation and structural steel requirements of the solar reflector or panel, reduction of wind caused erosion, reduction of dust accumulation that affects collection efficiency, and visual screening of the plant, reducing reflected sun glare.

  DustTamer has years of use in high UV ray applications like Owens Lake in the Mojave Desert in California. Most recently it was used at Bechtel's Ivanpah Solar Project staging area.


 We have had inquires into using DustTamer Wind Fences to direct wind over the top of the fence and into a wind turbines blades. The concept is to increase wind velocities for the turbine blades in low wind conditions. It is also a very effective visual screen.

Dry Fog™ can effectively suppress the dust at conveyor transfer points, without wetting the material.  Unlike dust collection systems, there is no secondary waste stream as we do not collect the dust, but simply "knock down" the airborne dust at the point of creation. Collectors typically deposit concentrated amounts of collected dust back onto the conveyor belt only to create more issues downstream.

DSI has worked on projects that range from low hazard level liquid waste being mixed with dry stabilizers for landfill to nuclear waste remediation projects. These nuclear waste projects include materials being excavated in contained areas to waste volume reduction facilities where contaminated waste is ground up and transferred to long term storage containers.

Dry Fog at the Load Point of a Conveyor

Dry Fog works by injecting sub-micron water droplets into the air at the point of dust creation. The fog droplets attach to like size airborne dust particles. The slightly wetted particles agglomerate to other particles, adding sufficient mass to settle the dust back into the conveyed product within the covered transfer point.


Dry Fog™ can work well at suppressing dust from HazMat dump and mixing pits used for stabilization. DSI have worked on various types of hazardous materials where dump pockets are being filled from conveyors, augers, trucks, front-end loaders and totes.  It is also used to control dust as the material is being mixed in the pit. Dry Fog wets the airborne dust, not the material.
