We see various type of dust issues at slag handling facilities. Dry Fog can be used at dust generation points that are stationary. However, if the slag is too hot, the fog will evaporate and not be effective in controlling the dust. DSI has successfully controlled dust from a variety of Smelter material handling operations. One common application is Feed Hoppers for reclaiming materials from storage buildings and piles. Conveyor Transfer Points are a common dust source at smelters.  Dry Fog has been used at smelters to control dust from fuel handling, sinter dust and slag handling. If the conveyed material is hot, it may make using Dry Fog a challenge as the fog droplets could evaporate before agglomerating the dust.  In some cases we can use a higher flow rated nozzle to overcome some of the evaporation. In addition, conveyor skirting covers may need to be raised and lengthened to allow for more cooling and agglomeration to occur.
